Music/Music VideoI love this song and I'll always love it. Happy birthday, Beyoncé! 9/4 "Kitty Kat" is such a good song from the album, and I'm so glad it never got TikTokified. TikTok is supposed to be a place for music, but sometimes people abuse it and then start calling songs "TikTok music" when they really aren't. Music is music! The interlude for this song at the Renaissance Tour was also SO good. I don't even know exactly who produced "Kitty Kat," but they did their thing. Funny enough, for the longest time I thought the opening lyric was, "You know I ain't sleeping alone, but you said that you would soon be home." To me, that made perfect sense! But apparently it's actually, "You know I hate sleeping alone." So she's feeling salty about him not coming home, while my version had me thinking, You know what? Go ahead. If you want to cheat on him because he's not coming back, do so." Clearly I was interpreting a completely different song, so finding out the real lyric was kind of disappointing. But the bridge is still the BEST part. "Diamonds on my wrist, got diamonds on my necklace..." all the way through "What about my body, body?" and "You would rather go and party..." That whole section is just too good.
