Oh my God, when I first heard this song, I really thought it was much older. I originally heard it sampled in a sigilcore mix on SoundCloud, I think it was called "With You Mix," by tenki. The sample was so beautiful that I had to find out where it came from, and that's how I discovered Devin Morrison.
His music is immaculate. Even the stuff he does on YouTube, where he comes up with these '80s and '90s-style commercial jingles, sounds incredible. His music is beyond magical and beautiful, his vocals are amazing, and he has such a unique sound. I genuinely don't understand how he isn't a much bigger artist. People take that kind of uniqueness for granted.
That's also something I love about sigilcore artists in general. They're so good at finding these beautiful, unusual samples and completely pulling you into them. This song was one of those samples I just couldn't resist tracking down, and I'm so glad it introduced me to Devin Morrison. Everybody on this track sounds incredible.
For me, this song is kind of traumatic and painful to hear. Whenever I hear it, I just get really sad. At first, I didn't like listening to it simply because of how sad it made me feel. More recently, though, around August 25th or maybe a little earlier, I heard that Hayden Panettiere had passed away. I came across an edit of her featuring a photoshoot she'd done a while ago, and seeing it after hearing the news made me incredibly sad.
Now my connection to this song feels even heavier than it did before. At the same time, I can actually listen to it now and let myself mourn Hayden. Rest in peace, Hayden Panettiere.
I don't know how this song ended up landing with the British, but they should honestly just claim it as an anthem because it screams British to me. When I first heard it and realized it sampled The Jackson 5, I was like, "How does this go with British people?" But somehow, the two just go together perfectly. This song is so cunty, so runway model, so editorial, just everything good. I love it with my entire heart. I'd make it my alarm if I could.
I really like this song. I can't quite explain what it reminds me of, but it definitely has that Pharrell-produced sound. I swear I've heard something like it before, I just can't place the exact song. Either way, it sounds really nice, and I love the passion BL8XE brings to it. Glad I found this one through TikTok.

I really like the sample, but I'm not too fond of the song itself. I know a lot of the Hispanic community isn't too fond of it either. But you know what's catchy to me? "MY SPANISH IS NOT VERY GOOD LOOOOKINGGGGG.", like i guess girl, celia cruz.
when we were parked up near the station AGAIN waiting for his sister and i was actually zoning out so hard, i thought it was terrible for the first thirty seconds and then it just flipped something in my brain, now i have had it playing on repeat while walking home in the rain and i look like a complete lunatic i swear marcus always finds this weird stuff before anyone else, remember that party last summer where he hijacked the speaker and played that unreleased edit and everyone got annoyed until about five minutes later when everyone was jumping around, he claims he heard this one in some random radio mix from three years ago but he is definitely lying because he only started listening to this kind of sound last month after he went to that night in clapton, actually no maybe he did hear it back then because he used to send me weird links at two in the morning all the time anyway i am sitting on my floor with my headphones full volume just staring at the ceiling, it makes me want to throw my phone across the room and run through a wall, literally cannot focus on anything else right now lol
My head is actually spinning right now. This is so heavy and dark in a way that just completely took over my room. Does anyone know how she even comes up with something this haunting?
someone on here posted about white ferrari & i went back to revisit this album & they were right about how frank will make you feel so calm yet ruined at the same time. he puts every confusing thought and emotion into such good poetry with his music & tells a beautiful story with each verse. it’s like time stops and all thoughts stop rushing through your head and you can really sit and think about how you relate to his lyricism. anyway let me stop glazing this man. he need to stop playing and release SOMETHING 😫 unreleased frank go hard but i need to see a full fledged project from him again
I swear, any song with “Butterfly” or “Butterflies” in the title never does me wrong. And this one specifically is SO good. I remember when my grandma was a real estate agent, she'd take me with her to the notary's and play this while she was in the office. I'd just sit in the car listening to it, completely obsessed. This song is unimaginably good.
I love this song and I'll always love it. Happy birthday, Beyoncé! 9/4
"Kitty Kat" is such a good song from the album, and I'm so glad it never got TikTokified.
TikTok is supposed to be a place for music, but sometimes people abuse it and then start calling songs "TikTok music" when they really aren't. Music is music!
The interlude for this song at the Renaissance Tour was also SO good. I don't even know exactly who produced "Kitty Kat," but they did their thing.
Funny enough, for the longest time I thought the opening lyric was, "You know I ain't sleeping alone, but you said that you would soon be home." To me, that made perfect sense! But apparently it's actually, "You know I hate sleeping alone." So she's feeling salty about him not coming home, while my version had me thinking, You know what? Go ahead. If you want to cheat on him because he's not coming back, do so." Clearly I was interpreting a completely different song, so finding out the real lyric was kind of disappointing.
But the bridge is still the BEST part. "Diamonds on my wrist, got diamonds on my necklace..." all the way through "What about my body, body?" and "You would rather go and party..." That whole section is just too good.
easily an all time fav by mac. I associate this song with the transition between summer and fall. It being the closing track for GO:OD AM really fits with the vibe of closing a chapter or moving to the next step in life. every year i revisit this song after my birthday and it ends up being in my top played songs by the end of the year lol. also the silly voice message from his friend at the end is so fun, i look forward to hearing it after every listen
